I’ve been walking the track and field for many years. I take photos of my club’s athletes and judges to make them available on the website, mainly for descriptive purposes.
At the same time I’ve been doing some urban photography, this time with a more artistic slant.
For 2024, the Olympic year in France, I decided to ‘merge’ these two approaches to photography. I want to focus on the representation of movement in athletics, in a way that is a little different from what you see most of the time in traditional sports newspapers, on the athletics federation website or simply from what I usually offer.
The aim of this project is to capture the athletes’ bodies, to ‘draw’ or ‘suggest’ them at a moment of their permormance, without distorting reality.
I’ve chosen to call this project simply ‘Athletes’, as it exclusively represents athletes in all their forms.
I selected 18 photos, which I exhibited at two exhibitions :
- The Rencontres photographiques de Château-Thierry on 4 and 5 May 2024
- Constellation shop, 23 rue Châtelaine, Laon, from 11 July to 8 September 2024.
