Since April 2021 my workplace has changed, as has my route to it. On the road, on the way there, an alley quickly caught my attention, the « Anselme street ».
I can’t really explain why I was so drawn to it. Its layout, like a tunnel leading to who knows where ? The changing sky at the end, like a painting ? Different street scenes at every turn, whether in the alley or at its end ?
Perhaps it’s simply that I always feel like I’m standing in front of a small theatre, with the buildings on either side of me as the front of the stage and the sky in the distance as the backdrop, where the scenery changes every minute of every day, depending on the weather ?
Whatever the case, from October 2021 onwards I’ve decided to stop there almost every day, sometimes several times a day, every time I pass through, to immortalise all these scenes, each one unique and special.
This series was exhibited from 1 August to 31 October 2023 at the Constellation shop in Laon.
It is an evolving series, in which I add or remove photographs as the weeks, months or years go by…
